Hours burned in traffic, unclear pickup and drop-off locations, lack of pedestrian support on the roads, and a complete disregard for the drivers&#8217; welfare all add up to making sure that Filipinos have one of the worst commuting experiences in the world.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><div style=\"text-align: start;\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"qh4l\" data-offset-key=\"bj69a-0-0\"><div style=\"margin: 1em 0px; position: relative; direction: ltr; text-align: inherit;\" data-offset-key=\"bj69a-0-0\"><p><span style=\"color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-size: 18px; font-family: Poppins;\" data-offset-key=\"bj69a-0-0\">In order to contextualize the gravity of the situation, consider the numbers. In December 2021, the number of registered vehicles in the Philippines reached 4,951,662. According to <\/span><span style=\"position: relative;\"><a style=\"color: #1890ff; cursor: pointer; outline: none; transition-property: color; touch-action: manipulation;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1274269\/philippines-number-commuter-train-passengers-by-line\/#:~:text=In%202021%2C%20the%20total%20number,increase%20from%20the%20previous%20year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc; background-color: transparent; font-size: 18px; font-family: Poppins;\" data-offset-key=\"bj69a-3-0\">Statista<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-size: 18px; font-family: Poppins;\" data-offset-key=\"bj69a-4-0\">, the number of train passengers alone has reached 103 million.
